Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of our business model at Organic Rainforest SAC Chocolate Factory. We are committed to producing high-quality organic chocolate while also being responsible stewards of the environment and supporting the communities that grow our cacao. This is why we are dedicated to sustainable farming practices when it comes to our organic cacao sourcing in Peru.

Peru is home to some of the world's finest cacao beans, and we are proud to source our organic cacao from farmers in the region. We work closely with small-scale farmers who use sustainable farming methods, such as agroforestry, crop rotation, and integrated pest management. These methods not only protect the environment but also improve the quality and yield of the cacao.

Agroforestry is a farming method that combines trees and crops in the same field. This method helps to maintain the biodiversity of the ecosystem, prevent soil erosion, and improve the soil quality. Crop rotation is another sustainable farming method that helps to break pest and disease cycles, improve soil fertility, and reduce the need for synthetic fertilizers. Integrated pest management is a method that uses natural predators, pheromone traps, and other non-toxic methods to control pests. These methods are in line with the organic certification requirements, which we follow in our chocolate making process. By using these methodologies we can ensure that our cacao beans are grown in a sustainable and responsible way.

In addition to these methods, we also work with farmers to provide training and education on sustainable farming practices. This helps them to improve their yields and increase their income, which in turn helps to improve the lives of the farmers and their communities. We also provide technical assistance to farmers to help them improve their cacao quality and yields. This way we can ensure that the farmers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to produce high-quality cacao beans.

We are also committed to fair trade and working with the farmers to ensure that they receive a fair price for their cacao. This helps to support the local communities and promote sustainable development.
